In this intimate investigation, Mika Sperling breaks a family and societal taboo. With vulnerability and resilience, she confronts her trauma through three visual narratives. First, a photographed walk along the path between her childhood home and that of her abusive grandfather; then, a family album in which the portraits of the aggressor have been meticulously cut out; and finally, the script of a conversation that will never take place between the deceased perpetrator and the woman who was once his granddaughter—now a mother—seeking answers.
Three series of pieces of evidence, punctuated by feverish handwritten notes, immerse us in the heart of her healing process. Through this formal investigation, Mika Sperling raises the question of repair through the artistic object.

Dans cette enquête intime, Mika Sperling brise un tabou familial et sociétal. Avec vulnérabilité et résilience, elle se confronte à son traumatisme à travers trois récits plastiques. D’abord, une promenade photographiée sur le chemin entre sa maison natale et celle de son grand-père abusif, puis un album de famille où les portraits de l’agresseur sont méticuleusement découpés et, enfin, le scénario d’une conversation qui n’aura jamais lieu entre le coupable décédé et celle qui fut sa petite-fille, aujourd’hui mère, en quête de réponses. Trois séries de pièces à conviction, ponctuée de notes manuscrites fiévreuses, nous immergent au cœur de son processus de guérison. Par cette recherche formelle, Mika Sperling soulève la question de la réparation à travers l’objet artistique.
